Instruction Manual

The Kessler Pocket Jib™ is the ultimate compact, portable jib. Not only is this jib fully collapsible for easy transport, but you can also mount the Kessler Pocket Dolly™ or CineSlider™ to it, turning it into a virtual "all-in-one" production tool, offering both a jib and mini-dolly in one unit.

The Pocket Jib™ has a telescopic dual rail arm design that has a maximum reach of five feet, fully extended, which is approximately 6" less than our KC-8 crane. The end of the crane arm features a ball relocator with 100mm bowl, so you can mount a 100mm ball fluid head. The weight bar system is also telescopic and collapses and folds away for easy transport.

The Pocket Jib™ comes standard with the Swivel Mount that allows you to mount the Pocket Jib™ to your tripod using a 100mm levelable ball, 75mm fixed ring mount, or a flat mount. If you would like to mount the Pocket Jib™ to your Hercules 2.0 head, the Swivel Mount can be removed and the Pocket Jib™ mounted flush to the Hercules 2.0 with the tilt locked with the pin lock in place.

If you add the slider option to your Pocket Jib package, be sure to select a camera mount option.

Fantastic Jib!!!! December 28, 2014
Reviewer: Patrick Jesseman from Somonauk, IL United States
For my dollar, nothing compares with Kessler! Incredibly stable and no unwanted movement or swaying found in other systems. Heavy Duty and looks really nice on set! Compacts down really well for transport but extends pretty impressively! All around a GREAT piece of equipment!

Owned for over 2 years October 23, 2014

I love this thing.  I bought one over 2 years ago with the Cineslider and I couldn't be happier.  I take it on most of my shoots.  I bought wheels for the legs and they never come off.  Makes things quick and easy.  Impresses my clients.  I would definitely buy again.

Excellent gear October 9, 2014

This is one of the excellent gears we invested wisely for our film work. We are new into films and we want to start humbly but in style and this gear helps bring the professional touch to our films.

Exactly what I needed! December 28, 2013
Reviewer: Nathan Lehner from Oshkosh, WI United States
I looked a quite a few jibs, some less expensive, some more expensive.  For my 5D MkII and Ex1 this seemed to fit the bill perfectly.  After talking about an hour to set up and play with in my house, I can now have the jib set up from the box balanced and shooting in 5 minutes.  All around very smooth motion and fantastic build construction.  Perfect for me to use on a one person shoot.  At full extension with my ex1 you can get  a little lateral wobble if you are not careful but only for very aggressive motion.  I'm sure glad I didn't go with a lesser quality or lighter duty jib.  After owning one month, I can't imagine not shooting with this!!!  My productions instantly took a giant leap forward!

Fast setup, beautiful results December 5, 2013
Reviewer: David McQuinn from Fredericton, NB Canada
Okay, after watching the setup video I was concerned that it would take me 15-20 minutes to set up. I have just had it a short time and it took me 6 minutes to switch from shooting on my tripod to setting up the Pocket Jib in place of the regular head. The same time or less to take down.

The important characteristic is the smooth movement in every direction. My productions now have seamless jib moves. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to stop the camera smoothly without having to create a freeze frame at the stop point. I don't know what they've done, but the mechanism just works like it should. I am thrilled, and so are my clients. I would highly recommend this tool.
